Public Forums

Social Security and Medicare:

The Lindberg team has been involved in the production of dozens of forums that have been of specific interest to retirees. These forums, which have been conducted in conjunction with members of Congress and the Department of Health and Human Services, have focused on a variety of issues, including Social Security reform, Medicare reform and retirement planning. The Lindberg Group has worked extensively with retiree organizations, such as AARP, to engage stakeholders with much success.

Workforce Development:

When the School-to-Work (STW) Opportunities Act was launched and was thereafter in its “sun-setting” stage, the US Department of Labor and the US Department of Education decided to conduct a series of community forums to identify the successful elements of School-to-Work and to document them in a report to the President.

The Lindberg team was instrumental in organizing and implementing more than a dozen community forums that engaged business, education and civic stakeholders across the country during the initial stages of STW. The public forums stimulated interest in STW and promoted local groups to organize and build the STW movement. During the last few years of the STW initiative, Lindberg Group developed two comprehensive reports on STW using qualitative data and anecdotal information, all of which was gathered during a new round of forums over a 24-month period.

The final report, which focused primarily on the role of work-based education models in education reform, was presented to the President. The report was then used as the basis for forming a Presidential commission, which disseminated the report’s findings to the education community and Congress.
