HP-ZLE Video
Issues/Challenges:
When HP acquired Compaq Computers it simultaneously purchased the Zero Latency Enterprises (ZLE) System—a computer server system with unlimited capacity and zero diminished speed. In the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and during the time of HP’s acquisition of ZLE, the US Government requested a briefing on the key elements of this system in the form of a 7-minute video. The video needed to explain a difficult concept to both amateur and computer savvy government representatives at the highest levels of U.S. security agencies. Lindberg Group LLC had produced a similar video for Compaq a few months before this request and was contacted by HP to re-edit, re-brand and reproduce a new video.
Strategies:
- Conduct a client meeting to ascertain all of the needs of the client
- Creation of a written report recapping the discussions and a final creative brief to outline the direction, look, cost and timeline for the video
Activities:
- Manage all script development and contracts with talent, production staff, and post production
- Tape live talent at a special “green” screen studio and create a set constructed around the talent that permits high end special effects to be incorporated during editing
Results:
The project was completed on time, $500 under budget and was produced as a VHS, CD, DVD and web cast.
